
Tommee Tippee, the UK’s leading brand of baby accessories, has been launched in the United States.
From this month, the full award-winning Closer to Nature newborn feeding range will be available in Babies R Us stores throughout America and in spring in Toys R Us.
Managing director Steve Parkin said: ‘This is a very exciting development in our long history.
‘Through our exclusive distribution agreement with Babies R Us we are delighted that Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature and Explora feeding products will be available from January in store.
‘All the signs are that parents and babies are going to fall in love with our products as they experience how innovative and simply intuitive they are.’
Tommee Tippee was actually a brand that originated in the United States but was brought to Britain in 1965 by the then managing director of Jackel International, now known as Mayborn Baby and Child.
‘Being able to deliver our award-winning products to parents in the United States is an exciting and important step for us as we build Tommee Tippee into a major global brand, said Mr Parkin. ‘Our teams have worked extremely hard to achieve the launch dates and significant orders have been received.’
The US launch crowns a rewarding period for Tommee Tippee. In 2009 the brand was named a Superbrand for the first time in its history and became clear brand leader in the UK’s baby feeding accessories category.
Tommee Tippee’s base in America is in Westport, Connecticut. A Press launch was held in New York last month and the products have won rave reviews. A US website has also been launched at www.tommeetippee.us along with Facebook and Twitter. Details are also available on www.babiesrus.com.
Comments left on the Facebook site have welcomed the brand as ‘just what US moms have been waiting for.’
