Shortlisted for the National Sustainability Awards

July 2023

We are delighted to announce that we’ve been shortlisted for not one, but two awards at this year’s National Sustainability Awards.

The National Sustainability Awards return for their 2nd year, recognising the pioneers of sustainability, with Mayborn shortlisted in the Plastic Reduction and Recycling & Sustainable Packaging awards categories.

The National Sustainability awards look for great stories of innovation and impact across all sectors that can help build a more sustainable and better future, with extra categories added this year so that more organisations can demonstrate their commitment and share best practice.   Although the awards are a celebration, they also show how our society can, with good leadership, be lead through the post-pandemic recovery into a new and more sustainable path.

At Mayborn we don’t want to demonise plastics, but we don’t want to add to the plastics pollution problem either.  Not all plastics are bad, it is where they are ending up that is the problem, that is why we are committed to creating a brighter future for our planet and future generations.

Mayborn’s award entries focus on our journey to remove single-use plastics (SUPs) from all our activities by 2030 and highlighting our current achievements.

Simon Ely, COO says “It’s a great achievement to get to the shortlist. Well done to the team for a great job, our hard work is paying off!!! Let’s keep our fingers crossed on the day.”

You can find out more about the awards and the shortlist here and the winners will be announced on 5th October 2023.
